I tihnk the question is a hypothetical quesiton. Not what is already implemented in the prison system. In any event, going on that basis. I would probably develope a safe system to handle the processing. I would allow independent rooms for those that are at risk or perfer their own accomedations to prevent rape and abuse. Develope a wearable monitoring systems (audio and video) and help button to stop preventable problems. And so fourth. Of course this is hypothetical and just based on current thoughts.
References :
All inmates are examined initially as they are placed into each institution. If there are immediate problems, they are addressed as they are discovered.

All inmates can place in health needs request form to see a doctor or medical practicioner at any time they feel they need to see medical. Annual paps and other routine tests are conducted on a schedule (usually around the inmate's birthday).

The system, while not perfect, does find issues the inmate didn't know was there, as well as examines the ones the inmates do know about.
References :
I am in my 21st year of working corrections as an officer, supervisor and investigator.
